Planned outages Tuesday 24 May and Wednesday 25 May

Residents will have received hand-delivered notices about these outages, but in case anyone did not, the details are below. At the end of this newsletter there is also a notice from NBC about the tree work associated with these outages.

Introduction (common to both outages)

Dear resident,

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we upgrade the electricity network for homes and businesses within your area. Temporary interruption to your electricity supply is critical for improving grid reliability, connecting new customers and keeping economic activity continuing in NSW.

We understand the added inconvenience caused by COVID-19, especially as more people work from home. That’s why we are doing everything we can to reduce the length of the interruption during this difficult period.

We may need access to your meter board to allow for testing but you do not need to be home to provide this access.

We apologise for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience while we complete this critical work.

The interruption to your power supply is needed for: Trimming trees within danger zone to electricity network and potential fire risk

NBC letter re tree work associated with these outages

Dear Recipient,

Tree removal notification

Council would like to notify you that it has become necessary to remove the Eucalyptus sp. at 81 Florence Terrace and the Corymbia maculata at 43 Robertson Road, Scotland Island. An inspection has indicated that they pose an unacceptable risk to the community.

Active Tree Service, Council’s approved contractor will undertake the work in conjunction with an Ausgrid power outage.

Access will be affected due to both Ausgrid, and Active Tree Service equipment required to undertake the work.

Pedestrian access will be assisted by staff.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, and we thank you for your patience.

Should you require any further information or assistance in this matter, please contact my office via email treeservices@northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au.

Yours faithfully,

Kristy Thornton

Tree Services Officer
