Ausgrid Update

Planned Power Outage: 24th Sept

Due to the ongoing works to upgrade our power supply, Ausgrid is required to cut the supply of power on Thursday the 24th of September, from 7:00am through to 5:00pm.

SIRA will send out a further reminder a few days prior to the outage day.

NBN Works

NBN are continuing their works on the island. Over the next fortnight the following major works are scheduled:

  • 9/09 – 11/09: Dessing Poles on Florence Tce – The road will be blocked for traffic.

Waste Services Survey

Northern Beaches Council continue to seek community input into the offshore waste services (garbage, recycling, bulky goods and vegetation collections) and have developed an online survey to seek feedback. Please have a little think as to the services currently in place and the areas in need of improvement. Reflect on

Bulky Goods Clean UpĀ 

ThisĀ is a reminder that the biannual bulky goods clean up begins in a week’s time (31st August).Ā 

The main points you need to know:

  • collection is from theĀ roadside only; do not place materials at public or private wharves or jetties
  • up toĀ 3 cubic metresĀ per household

Position of Water MonitorsĀ 

SIRA is seeking to appoint two Emergency Water Monitors. The monitors are responsible for managing water bookings under the new automated water booking system, as well as ensuring the smooth running of the water lines.

Expressions of interest are invited from permanent Scotland Island residents.
