Scotland Island is getting the gold standard nbn™ fibre to the premises (FTTP) which means each home will have a fibre optic cable run from the street and connected to a small nbn™ utility box (known as a Premises Connection Device) installed on an outside wall of your home.

The unique logistics of the island, and the current cabling of each house (some run underground) does not make this job easy.

The location and condition of your property’s existing telecommunications connection will determine where  the nbn™ fibre optic cable is installed.

To get connected here’s what you need to know:

  1. NBN will commence the lead-in work to  premises on Scotland Island mid-February.
  2. Residents must contact their preferred service provider to place an order , preferably ahead of the lead-in work .   For a list of service providers go to https://www.nbnco.com.au/residential/service-providers
  3. Once the lead-in work  is complete, your service provider will contact you to arrange an appointment for a contractor to complete the internal connection work in your premises.
  4. Your service provider  will send you your NBN modem for you to connect to NBN box installed .Installation notice letters will be sent to residents in early February to provide information around installation specifics.
