.#SIRA needs a treasurer and a secretary!
Secretary’s role
If you are organised and good at taking minutes, and can commit to about five hours a month for community work, you might be the perfect person to step into the role of secretary for SIRAC, at least until the next AGM in October. The role includes:
- attending meetings and taking minutes
- circulating draft minutes to the committee and making amendments to the draft
- sending out the final draft to the committee
- arranging to have final minutes uploaded to the Scotland Island Community website and the Pittwater Offshore Community Facebook page.
- liaising with SIRA’s president to create an agenda for each meeting, uploading it and sending it to the committee
The SIRA committee would like to extend sincere thanks to Deb Woods, who has been SIRAC secretary for over two years, diligently fitting the work into her busy life.
Treasurer’s role
Do you have some business skills? Would you like to contribute to the island community?
The Scotland Island Residents’ Association is seeking a Treasurer to fill in until the next AGM in October. You would need to have about five hours to spare during an average month. The position entails overseeing and working with the SIRA Accountant, who looks after all the accounts work. You would also:
- review the monthly reports prepared by the Accountant
- be able to discuss them with the SIRA Committee during its monthly meetings
- sign off on payments
- review any leases and contracts that involve SIRA
- oversee the annual report and the audit review process after the end of June
SIRA would like to extend warm thanks to Petra Godfrey, who fulfilled this role up until recently.
If you are interested in joining our group of committed and collegial volunteers for either of these positions, please email SIRA’s president at president@sira.org.au.
