Accessed by water only, the island is a refuge for natural forests, bushland reserves and native animals. Visitors love the shimmering water and gentle pace. Residents love the sense of community and adventure.

The Scotland Island Residents Association (SIRA) was founded in 1955 to serve, preserve and look after the interests of the island. Today, it represents the community on issues such as sustainability, infrastructure and lobbying local government. Voted for by residents, the SIRA Committee is also charged with the running of community services such as the Community Vehicle, the Community Hall, Emergency Water, this website and the island’s parks and reserves.
