Moorings adjacent to the Island

Waterways are currently inspecting all moorings near to the island to verify their legality. You are required to have an identified mooring with an attached registered vessel. The mooring must have been professionally serviced. To quote from Waterways:

Your boat must be registered and display its registration number or letters. Moorings will not be allotted unless boats are registered in your name and that you are the sole owner or, at least equal partner in the vessel to be moored. The registered controller of the vessel and the occupier of the mooring must be one and the same person.

Vessels which do not show registration numbers/letters and current registration labels will be in breach of their mooring licences, and this could result in cancellation of the mooring and removal of the vessel and apparatus by the Waterways Authority.

The registration number/letters is a vital part of the management of our waterways. It also allows the Boating Service Officers to contact the boat owners should the vessel break away, drag its mooring or is observed to be low in the water.

Wanted to Rent
