Originally from Mellbourne, I moved to Scotland Island in May 2004 after ten
years living in Newport and ten years in Palm Beach. The move was prompted
chiefly by financial considerations but with the hope of becoming part of a
smaller and close-knit community and of spending more time painting. Both
these hopes have been realised in the short time I have lived here.

I am an amateur painter who has painted since the age of thirteen off and
on but I had hardly touched a brush in the ten year prior to moving to the
Island. I studied briefly at The Royal Art Society, Seaforth Tech, Ashtons
and with Nigel Thompson. My painting has, up until recently, been mostly
figurative but the island and its precious stands of spotted gums has
evinced in me a desire to capture some of its beauty in landscape.
