New to the island, Alec is loving the new lifestyle he and his partner are becoming accustomed to. With a background in TV Production, he has moved into a new direction and now is a local primary school teacher. With a passion for sustainability, the enjoyment of the environment and a desire to help assist longer term improvements, he is keen to add his energies into the island’s vision. Always down to earth, Alec welcomes drinks, walks, chocolate, tea, cheese and chats.
I welcome this opportunity to serve on the SIRA committee as it deals with a wide range of island issues including the ongoing ones: Church Point parking, sewerage, roads and maintaining the community’s unique lifestyle.
A full-time resident now after moving into the family holiday home four years go, I have involved myself with Bushcare and Fire Brigade fund-raising and making new friends, not a lot I agree, so this is a chance to extend my service to my fellow Islanders.
In my seventies and a golf buggy driver, I also hope we can resolve the criticisms which are bubbling to the surface about these lifesavers.
