Outgoing Mayor Jacqueline Townsend said “While our council comes to an end, I know our staff will take our values and retain what is intrinsic to Pittwater. It has been a wonderful opportunity, privilege and honour to be a servant to Pittwater as a Councillor, Deputy Mayor and Mayor over the past eight years. I encourage our community to remain strong and proud of the achievements we have made together over the past 24 years and ask everyone to continue that momentum and connection with the new council. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for their tireless efforts in fighting to retain a strong Pittwater, especially for their collaboration with Councillors and staff on our recent community stalls gathering submissions on the most recent merger proposal.”

Our focus now is to work with our colleagues and the community to build a great new Council that will be an organisation of transformation and innovation. While the councils are in transition to the new organisation, it will be business as usual and we will strive to ensure continuation of our services to the highest of standards.  Thank you for your patience while we are in transition.  The new Council will inform you about any changes once they are decided.
