Ausgrid has announced plans to roll out improvements to our electricity infrastructure.
The following benefits will be achieved once these plans have been executed:
- A second cable to the Island will reduce the risk of sub marine damage causing an outage, to almost zero
- Insulators in the Island circular network will mean a tree fall incident no longer means the whole island will experience a prolonged outage
- The second cable’s duct will be able to be used by the NBN and bring fibre to the island!
